Why does my server need to be monitored?

A company's server is the lifeline for technology and business. Here at Up Time Tech, we agree that simple monitoring can prevent most of the common network disasters that plague servers.

Services Provided:

  • Backup | Notification will be sent if a weekly backup fails or if a daily backup fails twice in a row.
  • Disk Health | RAID sets (mirrored disk sets) are monitored to ensure all hard drives in the array are healthy as well as check for any file system corruption and errors.
  • Windows Update | Microsoft releases Windows Updates periodically to enhance the security and reliability of your server. Updates may require a reboot. Up Time will send notification if your server has not updated for a fixed period of time, needs a reboot, or is having trouble contacting Windows Update.
  • Disk Capacity | Notification will be sent if a server hard drive is reaching its capacity (over-capacity hard drives can cause crashes, extreme slowness, and the inability to save and store data).
  • Antivirus | Notification will be sent if definitions are not current.
  • Connectivity | A critical feature for monitoring is server connectivity or "phoning home" because without it, notification cannot take place. If the server appears to be offline, our system recognizes the absence of communication. This communication deficiency could be hiding many other problems even though the server appears to be running such as: file system corruption of the operating system and the inability to communicate with Windows Update.
  • Running Services | If services such as Exchange, SQL database, Print Spooler, Real-Time Antivirus Scanner or other services your server provides have stopped, we attempt to automatically restart them. Notification will be sent if services cannot be restarted.
